A really, really, REALLY fantastic book which I recommend to all the people who enjoy reading. This is a wonderful book about five children- Robert, Anthea, Cyril, Jane and their baby brother Lamb, who once, while playing come across a sand fairy Psammead who can grant wishes. HQe grants them one wish each day. And believe me, all the wishes go wrong. And that is what is the fun part of the book. Sometimes I wish that I am one of them and I encounter all the adventures. Wouldn't that be wonderful. By the way, you MUST READ this book and I promise you that this will certainly make you laugh on a boring day.
This is an amazing story where the author,Anna Sewell very creatively has woven a story on horses and their feelings. It is mainly about a foal and its adventures and all the various other horses and many masters and mistresses it meets.this story gives the reader a first hand account of how animals feel when they are ill-treated.this story has an inner moral saying that animals are not to be ill-treated but are to be taken good care of with love and affection.
This wonderful book is the second to the 'Five Children and It' and believe me, if you don't read it, then you are leaving a masterpiece behind. The story's like- There are four children named Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane and their baby brother, the Lamb (lamb makes five children as in title). Their mother buys the children a new carpet as their old one is destroyed in an accidental fire. The children find an egg in the carpet, which hatches into a talking Phoenix. The Phoenix tells them that their new carpet is a magical and will grant them three wishes a day. The five children go on many adventures through this wishes, and we get to laugh throughout this wonderful book. You MUST READ this book, or as I told you earlier, you will be leaving behind a masterpiece...
This is a simply wonderful collection of stories of the greatest fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. The stories included in this book are: The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge The Adventure of the Cardboard Box The Adventure of the Red Circle The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans The Adventure of the Dying Detective The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax The Adventure of the Devil's Foot His Last Bow My favorite amongst this stories is probably 'The Adventure of the Cardboard Box' because the suspense is wonderful. Like all Sherlock Holmes stories, this book is too a wonderful collection of stories.
Actually, this is the first story in the book, 'Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' and I read this story in that book. But as I have read this story, I am reviewing it. This is a good story and for the first time, Sherlock Holmes is defeated in a mystery. The person who defeats Holmes is a woman named Irene Adler. This story is worth a read.
