"Percy Jackson and the lightning thief" written by Rick Riordan is an excellent book and is a must read by everyone.It starts with Percy in school not able to read due to problem in his brain, he being dyslexic and ends up by him going on a quest since he is a half-blood and son of Posiedon.This novel transforms the reader to another world.A world filled with nothing but the gods , the demons and the half-bloods.
Written by Jonathan Swift, Gulliver's Travels is the story of the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver, the narrator and protagonist of the story. Gulliver is a married surgeon from Nottinghamshire, England who has a taste for traveling. He works as a surgeon on ships and eventually becomes a ship captain. Through one unfortunate event at sea to the next, Gulliver finds himself stranded in foreign lands and absurd situations, from being captured by the miniature Lilliputians to befriending talking horses, the Houyhnhnms. Although Gulliver's vivid and detailed storytelling makes it clear that he is intelligent and well educated, his perceptions are naïve and gullible. Gulliver never thinks that the absurdities he encounters are funny, and never makes the satiric connections between the lands he visits and his own home.
This is one of the beautiful books in Ann Martin's Main Street series for girls. I love this series really and enjoy reading these books about friendship. This is one of the best books. It's story runs like this- Flora and Ruby Northrop are orphans living with their grandma, Min (whom they call Min and not Grandma Min) in Camdem Falls. Flora's old best friend Annika is from Flora's old hometown is visiting Camdem falls for Spring and Flora is really excited. However, Flora's new best friend Olivia is afraid that the coming of Annika will result in Flora's ignoring her. Read this book. This book is certainly a MUST READ from my side.
A simply wonderful book about two orphan sisters Flora and Ruby Northrop living with their grandma, Min. This is about the first Christmas Flora and Ruby are spending without their parents. Also, many more things happen but I won't tell more 'cause I think that its you who should read it. I recommend this book to every girl reading this review. And Main Street fans like me must have already read this book. A 5 Star book.
