Matilda on 01-Jun-2015 on 01-Jun-2015 2015-06-01

Matilda is a wonderful book. It is about a child prodigy. This is the story of a sweet bright little 5 year old girl named Matilda, who is a child of exceptional intelligence. She reads books of author's like Dickens, Hemingway, etc. But unfortunately she is different from the rest of her family. Ignored at home all the time by her father and mother, Matilda escapes into a world of reading, exercising her mind so much that she develops telekinetic powers. She is sent off to a school headed by a cruel principal, Mrs. Trunchbull. Matilda finds warm-hearted Miss Honey, the first-grade teacher who recognizes the girl's remarkable skills--including a very special talent that allows the girl to fight the wicked grown ups. Dahl's comic way of telling the story is nice. This book is a MUST READ for all.

Anne of Green Gables 2015-06-01

This is one of my favorite books and is regarded as a children's classic by the world. It is a story of an eleven year old orphan girl, Anne Shirley, who is mistakenly sent to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a middle-aged brother and sister who had intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in Prince Edward Island. The story has Anne entering a school, then a college and o on. This is a wonderful book and I'd be surprised if you haven't read it.

Little Women 2015-06-01

A great classic. Little women is a very beautiful story of four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March and their mother, Mrs. March. Their father is far away fighting in the war and these girls and their mother are eagerly waiting for the time when he comes home. 'Little woman is a story of growing up.The March family is relatively poor, though they can still afford one servant and they often share whatever they have with others less fortunate. Alcott is a really wonderful author and I am trying to read more of her books.

A Little Princess 2015-06-01

This book should be read without fail. This is truly a wonderful book. The story sets in the England ruled by Queen Victoria. Sara is a little girl who doesn't have anything in the world but her father, Captain Reginald Crew. War times approach, and Captain Crew's sent to fight with the British army to Africa. Sara's worried about her father and she's afraid of his security. She is registered in an exclusive seminary for girls, only for a period of time, until Captain Crew returns from Africa. Miss Minchin is a strict woman who runs the seminary. Sara's life at Minchin Seminary is very happy, but everything there has a cost, even the birthday party and the presents that Miss Minchin sets up for Sara. When Sara finds out about Captain Crew's death, she's devastated but all the privileges will cease, because there's no money to pay for them. Miss Minchin tells Sara that she can stay, but in a dark and creepy attic and she'll have to work as a servant for all her friends. However she makes friends with a nice Indian servant from the house next door and with the other servant girl, Becky, at the seminary. And Sara, keeps hoping that her father is still alive. This is a hear wrenching story and you MUST read it.

David Copperfield 2015-06-01

David Copperfield is a describing the title character’s (David's) life. Some of the information in the novel is related to Charles Dickens’s own life. David's father had already died even before he was born. When David’s mother remarries, his stepfather is cruel and sends him to a boarding school. David’s mother dies when he is twelve, and his stepfather sends him off to live with a family, Micawber family in London and work in his stepfather’s warehouse. David is unhappy working at the warehouse. He runs away from there his Aunt Betsy's house. His aunt sends him to live with the Wickfield family and attend a school there. Then, the things start going a little smoothly. This is a really good book to read. By the way, all classics are.
